The MTA-BME Quantum Dynamics and Correlations Research Group is a team of theoretical physicists at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), focusing on the description and simulation of strongly interacting quantum many-body systems. Our research interest extends from condensed matter and cold atomic models to the physics of nuclei.

The group has been founded in 2019.

Group leader: Prof. Gergely Zaránd.

Get here

Arrival by plane

Take a taxi to town from the exit of your terminal at the Liszt Ferenc International Airport. Taxis in Budapest have a government-regulated pricing based on a taximeter. A ride from the airport to the city should cost around EUR 25. Another option is the Airport Shuttle Minibus, that takes you to your destination conveniently for a somewhat cheaper, fixed price. Follow the signs at the airport to their office to buy a ticket.

Arrival by train

You can always find a taxi at the main entrance of the railway station.
You can also take public transportation.  Here are the ways you can get to the department:

  • From Keleti railway station: take subway M4 (green line, direction: Kelenföld) to Szent Gellért tér.
  • From Déli railway station: take tram 18 to Gárdonyi tér.
  • From Nyugati railway station: take subway M3 (blue line, direction: Köbánya-Kispest) to Kálvin tér. Then change to subway M4 (green line, direction Kelenföld pályaudvar) to Szent Gellért tér.

The Departement is in walking distance both from Gárdonyi tér and Szent Gellért tér (see map below).

Arrival by bus to Népliget

Taxis park by the bus station.
If you choose to take public transportation, take subway M3 (blue line, direction: Újpest-Központ) to Kálvin tér. At Kálvin tér change to subway M4 (green line, direction Kelenföld pályaudvar) to Szent Gellért tér. Make sure that you have a valid ticket for the subway. The Departement is in walking distance from Szent Gellért tér.
